Anyone else here seen Sports Night?
I love this show, the first series was a bit wierd because they put a laughter track on it but they took it off for series two which is when it really took off!
Such a shame that it got axed after that, the World doesn't know what it's missing!

Great show, but it was begging to be an hourlong. The episodes feel so short, and every time you feel the show is hitting it's stride the closing credits come up!
I think Studio 60 will be quite similar to Sports Night (but better). Matt and Danny are very similar to Casey and Dan!

I, too, think Studio 60 will be or feel more like Sports Night than WW. Sports Night was a good show, not the WW, but good nonetheless. Had it been able to go on, I think it could've been a great show.

When I read the script to Studio 60, my first thought was Sports Night. It has a LOT of the same feeling to it. Hopefully it gets better treatment...

Huge fan of the show. The campaign for its immediate return starts here B-) !?!?!
I know people hate the idea of mixing the worlds of SN, WW and S60 but I honestly think a number of the characters would work. Sam Donavan was a ratings expert (William H Macy), Natalie went for an interview for SNL didn't she so why not?
Bring back Josh Charles! I don't care who as but nobody does Sorkin like him!

Love anything Sorkin. Sports Night was our favorite show when it was on. We really loved the interaction between Casey and Dan. Studio 60 does seem to have the same qualities, with Matt and Danny.
I just can't wait!

In the final episode of "Sports Night" I love the shot that Sorkin took at ABC. He had the guy buying the station say something to the effect of, "It'd take a fool not to make a show like 'Sports Night' a ratings hit."

"Anyone who can’t make money off of 'Sports Night' should get out of the money-making business." Many, many good lines on that show, but that was one of the best. kdb

I've just bought all these DVD's... they better not suck, especially at the stupid importing costs...
That is greatly offset by seasons 1-4 of The West Wing for £10 each in my Blockbuster though, Mmmm, cheap DVD's that make me look smart when I put them on the shelf next to my Zombie movies.
Oh... not THE Kurt Busiek surely?

There are others -- my grandfather, a distant cousin, and his son -- but I'm the only one likely to be described as "the." I'm a huge Sorkin fan, and itching to see this series... kdb

In an entertaining twist, Season 2 has arrived, but Season 1 is lost somewhere in the postal system, probably on some postmans DVD player like my copy of Fear and Loathing. Cool. Thats just reminded me that I've not picked up my standing order for 5 months... thats gonna be expensive.

Sports Night was sold in two seperate seasons in England? There was just one box set of the complete series in the US.

It's not for sale here, I've had to import it but mine only has season 2 in it.
Oh... GODDAMMIT[/i] ...Er... yes, I knew that the whole lot was in there, I'm not that stupid.
*Runs to a corner and hides... turns out the corner is infact a chicken... again with the lack of observation*

I. Love. Sports Night.
I've watched it so much now that I honestly don't even notice that ridiculous laugh track.
It's just brilliant. Although the entire cast is great, I think Josh Charles ranks up there with Allison Janney as one of the best Masters of the Sorkinese. He was born to play Dan Rydell.
That show simply never gets old. Favorite episode is easily "Smoky." After that, they're in a big clump!
